Way of Life by Ezra

Three small fish are swimming in the deep sea. A shady shark appears and gobbles up one of the fish. Luckily the other fish escape.

Bunnies on a Wintery Day by Ocean

The bunnies were having fun frolicking in the snow. The old man hang glider, who didn't like bunnies, swooped down and one by one grabbed the bunnies in his claw.

Super Spider Teleporter

Super Spider crawled around the garden and teleported himself to the high mountain. A tourist was taking a photo of the mountain. Nasty Super Spider photo bombed the picture.

Animal Jam Mount Shiver Disaster by Mia

Snowy lives in an icy cave in the mountains. He thinks he is safe until a pack of wolves appear when he is sliding in the ice. Luckily the leader of the pack is a kind Arctic Wolf and he encourages the wolves to leave Snowy alone.

Our first animations with Google Slides

Sarah - The Hungry Wolf

Today I have learnt how to use google slides to create an animation. First I thought about my story, then I found my background. I found my characters and put them on the first slide. Then I had to copy and paste that p slide and move the characters a little bit. I kept doing this until the wolf ate the bunny! I am now working on the writing the story from the point of view of the wolf.

Jasmine - Spiders Web

Reitu - Leap Frog

Jared - Nemo Finds a Friend

Zac - Under the Sea

Learn, create , share. What fun!

More weaving harakeke. In the end we created a bunch of Ocean Pearls for Moana and Tom.

Weaving with harakeke

Deep concentration as we weave our Ocean Pearl flowers. Thank you so much Moana and Tom.

Moana Rita Ocean Pearls Weaving

Room 6 was lucky to learn how to weave ocean pearl flowers from harakeke. Ezra's mum Moana and her partner Tom, patiently taught everyone to 'split and tear ' then 'weave back and down' until everyone had created their unique flower . Adhering to the kaupapa , each student gave their first flower to Moana. These flowers will be treated and then will become a koha for the people who attend workshops on the Paihia Village Green . From there, the flowers will travel the world and the cycle of Moana Rita Ocean Pearls will continue.

Maui and The Giant Fish by Ezra and Zac

After reflection we have improved our video

Maui and the Giant Fish by Ezra and Zac

This first attempt is quite short so we want to try again and add more detail.

The Kiwi and the Cat by Kiriwai and Tarjzon

Kiwi poked predator cat so cat ran away and hid. Kiwi's egg rolled around but it hatched safely.

Maui and the Giant Fish by Jared and Mitchell

Maui hid in the waka and went fishing. He punched himself on the nose and used his blood for bait. As soon as he had thrown his magic jawbone, he felt a big tug. He pulled and pulled until a giant fish came to the surface. It became the North Island of New Zealand according to the legend.

The Snail Race in Insectopia by Cilla, Matthew, Gyanne, Zoe and Sarah

Alien Destruction by Emily and Zac.

My sister and I experimented at home with animation. Using my lego and other toys we created this video. However, we know that next time we need to start with a basic story that has a beginning, middle and end. It was fun anyway

Kiwis for Kiwis - An Animation by Jesse, TK and Tarquinn

Ethan and Will's Animation - Car Aliens - The Full Movie

Wynter-Rose - Lego Friends Episode 1

I have been learning how to create animations at school. Today I got to bring my chromebook home so I decided to create an animation at home. I got a bit bored at home so I stared at my lego and I decided I would just start playing with it. I remembered I had my chromebook so I decided to make an animation. The story begins with a family and their horse. They are cooking chicken while the horse is outside. The next day they go out for pizza and when they come home they go to sleep. When they wake up they go to the cafe and get a piece of cake and when they return to their home they are sad to find their horse has been run over. Watch out for Episode 2.... Wynter-Rose

Native Kiwi by Saffyre .Room 6 has been learning to use poetry devices like alliteration, simile, hyperbole, personification, metaphor and onomatopoeia.

Kiwi
Kiwi dashing here and there,
Sliding through the forest floor,
Crunching crickets,mantis munching,beetle battling,

Kiwi peeks through the darkness
and damp of the tangled ferns,

Night covers the forest like a blanket,
Then turns to day as fast as putting frosting on a cake

Crack!crack! Kiwi’s egg is breaking!
Baby kiwi pops out and searches for its dad.
Goodnight kiwi!!! File:Kiwi (PSF).png

Quality Blog Comments

:Room 6 has been learning how to make quality blog comments. First, we read comments on various blogs and discussed what makes quality blog comments. After that, we watched a video which explained the characteristics of quality blog comments. While watching the video, we used the app VideoNot.es to make our own notes. Here are Sarah's notes... "commenting is a great way to tell the author of blogs how well they have done\commenting is fun and interesting\always try to be positive\don't put too many exclamation marks\always put a question at the end of your comment and dont forget the question mark\make a connection to what they have written\be careful with humour and make sure your comment is helpful\always reread your comments to make sure you did not make a mistake\be careful about what you post because it is where everybody can see it\whatever you post is permanent\ comments on blogs
